The Deck Band wrapped up 2007 where things began, performing at Ott's Tavern on the Green in Washington Township. A big shout-out to all the staff and patrons at Ott's, who made us feel welcome all year.
To be honest, 2007 was a great year for the Deck Band. We started off the campaign with only 4-5 months of time together with our new axe man John Russell (JR) We certainly felt that performing at a place such at Ott's, where some of the best cover bands not only in the Delaware Valley, but nationally as well have played was a huge step. While we don't have the time together, formal training, or best gear of many of the area's more established bands, we have as much fun playing as any of them, and feed off of those folks that watch us play in a big way as well. For a bunch of 40-Somethings using our music as a cool hobby, we couldn't ask for more.
We are looking forward to another fun filled 2008, and are already polishing off three new tunes this week. Long Way Down (Goo Goo Dolls), Houses of the Holy (Led Zep), and Better Man (Pearl Jam) were all rolled out at our first 2008 practice and went well. We are also currently in the selection stage for five new tunes...

We kick off 2008 back in Somerdale at The Little Spot. The place we first played a full night in public a few years back. Always good to see Heather and the folks at the bar at The Little Spot. Saturday, February 16th at 9:00. Three of four sets, who knows maybe a few of the above tunes too.
As always, thanks for checking in. We hope to see you all over the upcoming season!
