Deck Heads-
Things are going well thus far in 2008, with three-fourths of the band recently returning from Killington, Vermont. At our favorite home away from home, both TC and Whitey joined Rich Meyer on stage at the Gristmill for a few wicked cool numbers, in front of friends, family, and a whole bunch of people we didn't know who thought we were most likely certifiable. Nonetheless, a good time was had by all. Good times as well for our other ‘fourth’, as JR celebrated his first weekend in February in Arizona, watching the G-Men knock off the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII live.
The band is now getting set for our first outing of the season, Saturday night at The Little Spot in Somerdale, NJ (9:00 pm). We are happy to have a fellow Tweed Farms neighbor joining us for a few tunes on Bass Guitar, Kenny. He's ready to rock out with Low, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Bang A Gong.
The folks at Trios have requested the band to play one of their upcoming open dates, and we have gladly obliged. Jot down Saturday February 23rd for a 9:00 go time at the Trio's Tavern in Williamstown.
All parties involved have also agreed to bump back our previously scheduled March 8th date to either March 15th, or March 29th, both Saturday nights.
New songs have also been selected by the band, and we will begin work on these mostly likely after our 2nd Trio's night in March. They are...
From JR:
Smashing Pumpkins – Bullets with Butterfly Wings
From Whitey:
Bruce - No Surrender
From Murph:
The Hives - Hate to Say I Told You So
TC:
Tom Petty – Running Down a Dream
Ballads:
Allman Bros. – Melissa (JR)
Hoobastank – The Reason (TC)
So there you have it. This Saturday at the Little Spot. New material, guest players, and $2.00 Miller Lites ready to go!
