The Deck Band... Rockin' and Bloggin' South Jersey one party at at time!
Post Yesterday Comments and More...
The Deck Band is feeling great after our first visit to Yesterday's
restaurant in Marmora, NJ. The Gang from Gloucester opened to a full house, with the place already rockin' over the Flyers huge victory vs. Montreal. Familiar faces, and lots of new potential fans all had a blast, and had lots of nice compliments on Saturday night.
With visions of sound difficulties from the previous week still fresh
in our minds, being able to hear ourselves and be heard was our number one goal. Outside of two successfully corrected sound issues, we were ery happy with that area of our playing.
Many thanks to those who traveled further than usual to support the 40-somethings. ML and Kev Halvorsen (a great intro and some U2 crooning from these two) from Monmouth County, Sharon, new Deck fans Joanne and Joe, Chip from Vineland, Super Deck fans Justiney and Mike, and the Carey crew of Frank (special thanks for his connections) and the lovely Miss Elsie.
With four sets planned, we thought we'd only be able to get in three full hours of music after the SRO house crowd pushed back show time. On this evening, the band continued to play after our final set, plucking songs out of the bag and rocking deep into the foggy evening. We were the band that wouldn't leave.
You think that's the good news? Well guess what, it just gets better. The following Monday The Deck Band was invited back for three more shows throughout the summertime. Jot down June 13, July 19, and August 15 for return visits. And we owe it all to the great folks above, and hopefully some new friends made in Marmora.
You think that's the good news again? Actually, that is the best news but here is some more.

As always, these songs were selected after careful review to get your toes tappin', and encourage you to sing along with the band. As most of you know, if you aren't having fun- we are working hard enough.
