Many thanks for those that ventured out catch up with the
band at our first gig in Berlin, NJ.  On this Wednesday
night, it was all about the crew at the
Golden Nugget on
New Freedom Road.  Very cool place to play, and alot
bigger inside than the newcomers expected.  The band got
to try out their new toys (see below) with three sets, and
included lots of stuff that we hadn't played in quite a while.
Kenny once again joined the band for Low, as Kev went to the rythm guitar in the
background.  New Deck Fan Christy seemed to like everything about the night, with the
exception of Whitey's Barry Sanders jersey, or any of the sports teams he supports.  At
one point, she even likened Murph to Tom Hanks.

Below we see a few Tweed Farmers on stage, while another denim beauty caught the act
in the lounge.

Band Notes:  It is always exciting when you play a new up
is all part of the fun.  On this first night, the stage was
able to accomodate the band and our new JBL Speakers
(left).  Since it was the first time using them, we all had
our fingers crossed to make sure we did everything right.
As far as the PA gear, the night was a successs.  Nothing
blew up.  Our monitors worked great.

As for JR's array of axes, the same couldn't be said.  His
pride and joy, the "Hannah" custom developed a strange
buzzing sound during sound check.  He then went to his
trusty Ibanez, but had a few problems with the strings.
JR pretty much had to play the night with a new (and
very cool) BC Rich 10 string guitar.  That's a lot to
overcome on a rockin' Wednesday night in Berlin.
The Deck Band's JBL 125's
lived up to the billing...
                    A quote from Murph...

"Appreciate all of the support on a fun night.  Thanks go out to Eleanor, Christine, Pat,
Eric, Lizzy and Dan, Karen, Kim, Joanne, Gil, Judy, Ken, and Donny. Special thanks to
our host Porky, and Jimmy and Carla for their hospitality."
Tweed Kim & Donnie Rocket.  Hey Donnie, when you gonna come
up and jam with the band again?
Tweed Kim & Barry Sanders.  Hey Kim, you liked the jersey
didn't ya?
