Next Gig:
Whitey Pool-Ooza
July 5th
Williamstown, NJ
The first half of June saw the Deck Band kick out two nights of tambourine laden
fun in two seperate counties.  All the shots here are from Yesterdays from Friday
the 13th.  Down below, we'll also serve up the low down on our first 'nearly on
the deck" Ott's eveing...
TC was overheard stating "It's good to be the king!", which would of course
make Rita his queen for the night.  Whitey was feeling pretty kingish as well,
with a pop-in visitor from behind the kit...
Down in Marmora, the band was surprized by the appearance of the Lost
Highway girls, while Mikey and SuperFan Justiney define "sheets to the wind"
Three Queens and a King (Jenny-Jenny, Tina, King T, and Michelle on the left.
The Lovely Rita Tambourine Maid, Jenny-Girl, and a smiley Elsie on right...

On Wednesday June 18th the band finally got their
chance to play an accoustic type set on the Ott's Tavern
back deck, dubbed "The Deck Band on the Deck, man".

As luck would have it, the only night it threatened to rain
was Wedneday, June 18th.  Prior to the gig, bar manager
John and the band met to discuss their options.  The
threesome rolled the dice, set up on the deck, played
two songs, and the rains game.  After a short break, and
a very quick turnaround 're-set', the band got underway
inside and were treated to a very festive crowd.

Many firsts on this particular evening, which included...

*First gig with a three man unit.  TC was in Dallas, and
there were several toasts to him throughout the night.

*First gig using the Roland digital drums.  Many cool
effects to be had using modern technology.  Let's hope
they dry out.

*First accoustic type evening.  All songs played with
JR's accoustic guitars.  Several songs played with no
percussion at all.

*First time playing Heart of Gold (JR on harmonica),
Easy Peaceful Feeling, and the very popular American
Pie.

*First time we set up twice in one hour.

*First gig with no official photographer.
