On this page we will list some of the gear the band uses, and a few links to websites we find helpful...

Whitey recently said goodbye to his red wine Pearl Forum Set, and hello
to the pictured Yamaha Stage Custome Advantage set with Remo
Weatherking Pinstripe heads. He plays with Ziljian cymbals: 14" New Beat
Hi Hats, 8" A Series Splash, 18" A Series Projection Crash, 18" ZBT Crash
(nice sound for ZBT, a workhorse), and a 21" ride. A Pearl p-120 pedal is
preferred, as it is well built and perfect for his type of playing. Probably
better then some of the more expensive pedals on the market. Never hurts
to mic the set as well, so Whitey attaches a Shure 4-piece mice set,
accompanied with a Shure four channel mixer.
Recently added the Pork Pie 14" x 6.5" acrylic snare drum. Great sound,
cool looking, and can easily transfer to another shell kit if desired.
For practice and recording is a set of Roland
TD-3's (digital). The TD-3 Percussion Sound
Module boasts 114 new, high-quality drum
and percussion sounds arranged into 32 kits,
each kit's sounds can be enhanced using 15
types of built-in Ambience effects and
compression.
The Deck Band was formulated thanks to

other things, a way for bands to search out musicians, or
vice verse.
Themode.com is another website that allows surfers to
see who if available for gigging based on your telephone
area code. Click on the logos to the left and check them

The Deck Band is always looking to upgrade their gear as a group. For most gigs, we employ the services of the Peavey 9 Channel XR-696f 1200 W powered head, and run through matching JBL 125X Speakers. For smaller venues, Peavey TRS Speakers are always an option too. For even larger performances, an outside sound man is brought in. We're fully sufficiant when needed, and can blow the roof off as well. We also utilize monitors, lighting, congas, and of course tamborines for our Deck Heads to enjoy along with us. All of our microphones are Shure 58's, the industry standard.

JR is a man constantly upgrading and tweaking his sound. He currently is
sporting three axes (show below). His main squeeze is a custome Gibson
with some serious components. He also plays an Ibanez electric, a Ovation
accoustic electric, and the wonderfully full sounding accoustic 12-String.
